Important Update: IRS Final Regulations Issued for Occupations Receiving Tips.Â
The IRS has issued its final regulations for occupations customarily receiving tips. The regulations, which relate to the “No Tax on Tips” provision of the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, included a list of occupations that receive tips and a definition of “qualified tips” that may be claimed as a deduction. The list is classified by the Treasury Tip Occupation Code System and includes a three-digit code and description for each occupation. Expansions to the list included visual artists, floral designers, and gas pump attendants.
