Minimum wage increases went into effect in several states, counties, and cities on July 1, 2026.

In California, the changes are industry-related and apply to healthcare. Healthcare workers in integrated health systems or hospitals with 10,000+ employees (including skilled nursing facilities) must be paid at least $25/hour. The same rate applies to dialysis clinics and covered healthcare facilities run by large counties. Covered healthcare facilities run by small counties are required to pay $19.28 per hour, while those run by medium counties have a minimum hourly rate of $23.

In Oregon, the minimum wage rates are:

• $14.55: Employees in non-urban counties
• $15.55: Employees outside non-urban counties and the metropolitan Portland urban growth boundary (also called the Portland metro)
• $16.80: Employees in Portland metro
