Under Senate Bill 1515, the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) and Paid Leave Oregon (PLO) will become aligned. These changes will take effect on July 1, 2024.
The OFLA applies to all employers in the state with 25+ employees, while the PLO applies to employers with 1+ employee. Since the changes go into effect at different times, employers in Oregon should review the requirements that are currently in effect (through June 30) vs. what will be in effect on July 1.
